BandInKey privacy policy

The short version. BandInKey collects nothing. It has no account, no server and no analytics. It never sends your data anywhere. There is no data for us to see, sell or lose, because none of it ever reaches us.

What we collect

Nothing. BandInKey has no sign-up, no login and no user profile. We do not receive your name, your email address, your device identifiers, your location, your usage statistics, your crash reports or your audio.

There is no advertising in BandInKey, no advertising identifier is read, and no third-party analytics or tracking library is built into the app.

What stays on your device

BandInKey stores the following on the device itself, and nowhere else:

your song sheets, with their lyrics, chords and keys;
your set lists and the order you put them in;
your settings, such as the theme and the text size.

This data lives in the app's own storage on your device. It is included in your own device backups if you have those switched on, and it is deleted when you delete the app. We have no copy of it.

Opening and sharing files

BandInKey can import song sheets from files you choose, and can hand a file to your system's own share sheet when you ask it to. Both happen only when you start them, and the file goes exactly where you send it. Nothing is uploaded anywhere by the app itself.

Internet access

BandInKey makes no network requests of any kind. It works the same with the device in airplane mode, which is how it was designed: a stage is often a place with no signal.

Permissions the app asks for

BandInKey does not request access to your location, your contacts, your photos, your camera, your microphone or your local network. It asks the system to keep the screen awake while you are performing, which is not a permission and involves no data.

Children

BandInKey is a tool for performing musicians. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data a company holds about you. In our case the honest answer is that we hold none: there is nothing for us to send you and nothing for us to erase. The data in the app is yours, on your device, under your control.

If you write to us for support, we will of course have whatever you put in that email. We use it to answer you and nothing else.

Changes to this policy

If BandInKey ever starts sending data anywhere, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
